Going to the Chapel and We're Gonna get Married...

Yes that's right! I'm engaged! Brad surprised me by showing up in College Station and proposing to me on June 20th.

I had a test that morning in my cost accounting class. He had told me the night before that he was going to play golf with some of his friends that morning so of course I believed him. Before my test he called me to tell me good luck, but he actually was really calling to make sure that I was up at the school because he was almost to my house. After my test, I went home to pack to head home for the weekend and when I opened the door to my house there were rose petals on the floor. At that moment I knew exactly what was going on and I just started crying. I followed the rose petals into the living room. In the living room, he had candles lit all around the room and a CD playing that I had made him. I walked up to him and he gave me a hug and told me that he loved me. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! And of course I said yes! :)

We went back to Mesquite for the rest of the weekend and spent time with both of our families. On Saturday night we went out for a celebration dinner with my family and his family at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. It was a lot of fun to get to spend our engagement weekend with our families!

So now we are working on actually planning the wedding! (Which is really exciting to me!) We've decided to have the ceremony at my church in Mesquite on June 27, 2009, followed by the reception at the Hilton Bella Harbor in Rockwall. I am so excited! I can't wait for it to get here!

But until then, I will keep everyone updated and I will finish school. I know it will get here fast, but right now it feels so far away!

So it's been awhile...

So it has been a few months since my last post. This is mostly due to the fact that I have not had internet access to my computer since December.

I have been quite busy! Over Christmas break, my family and I went to Disney World! It was so much fun! While we were there, my brother proposed to his girlfriend. They are going to get married in November! :) Here is a pic of my entire family with Mickey!

Once I got back from the Orlando trip with my family, I went back to Orlando for my internship training. While there, I got to go back to Disney World with a few of my friends. Here is a pic of all of us with Minnie and Mickey! Gig'em!

Once I got back from Orlando, (for the second time :) ) I got to experience an internship with KPMG in Dallas. KPMG is one of the big four accounting firms. I really learned a lot and it was overall a great experience! At the end of the internship, they offered me a job, and I accepted! It is so exciting to know that even though I have another full year of school left, I have a job waiting for me when I graduate.

Before coming back to A&M for some mini-mesters, I got two weeks off for spring break! One of those weeks, me and six of my friends decided to go to Las Vegas! It was so much fun! We had a blast! One night, we went and saw LOVE, the Beatles Cirque de Soliel show. It was awesome. As for other things that we did...well...what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! ;) haha Here is a pic of all of us before LOVE!

Anyways, now I am back here in College Station, taking Corporate Taxation. (Sounds exciting doesn't it? Trust me, it's not. I'm glad I'm going into audit!) I have definitely stepped back into reality.

It's that time again...

Yep...that's right...it's final's week again! In other words, it is one of the worst weeks of the year! It really should not be one of the worst times of the year though. I mean, Christmas is almost here. The holidays are supposed to be a happy time!! School somehow always seems to put a damper on the holidays though. Most likely because I get really stressed out during finals. Here are some reasons that I have compiled below of why I wll be stressed this time around:

1. The lack of sleep.
2. I'm an accounting major (self explanatory).
3. In order to keep my A's I have to study my rear end off.
4. All four (that's right, I said four) of my finals are cumulative.
5. The tile people are supposed to come fix our floor during finals and I am the one who is to oversee it.
6. There are a lot of things going on at my church back home that suck really bad. People staying that I don't want to stay, people leaving that I don't want to leave, etc. (you get the point)
7. Homework I have to finish before I can even study for my finals.
8. Making sure I have everything packed and ready to go that I need for my trip to Disney World with the fam and for my internship in the Spring by next Wednesday, since I won't have time to come back to College Station until March
9. I have to shop for Christmas presents within the next two weeks since we are having Christmas early this year.
10. Missing my boyfriend.
and last but not least...
11. Did I mention the lack of sleep and all cumulative finals???

As you can see, finals just make you wish that Christmas was already here. I can't believe that I have actually made the decision to stay in school longer to get my master's degree. I must be out of my mind! jk I wish that I could just fast forward in my life to next Wednesday at 10AM. That would be so awesome! Until then though, I will be studying my little heart out, dreaming of the days when I won't have to look at a book anymore.

Using a blog again

So, I've decided to blog again. I had a xanga a couple of years ago, but I don't use it anymore. Writing has always helped me to clear up and sort through my thoughts. Unfortunately, I don't feel like I do this enough anymore and that is why I am stressed a lot. So, hopefully this will help keep my stress levels down with everything going on with school and just life in general. I also want to do this in order for my friends to keep up with me and my life. I have a facebook and myspace too, but I feel like those only show what is going on in your life at one point in time. You update the facebook or myspace one day and then may not update it for another year or so. I feel like blogs are just more current. Just my point of view though...

Anyways, I do want to ask that you all pray for my best friend, Lauren from high school, and her family. Her dad has cancer and doesn't have much longer to live. Just pray that God will comfort them during this time and to make the holidays as good as possible for them. Also pray that her dad remains comfortable and upbeat for the rest of his time here. Thanks and God Bless!
